David Reynolds has written music for an impressive group of distinguished filmmakers including Jerry Bruckheimer, Marc Platt, Timur Beckmambetov, Neil Moritz, Peter Segal, Stan Winston, Paul Feig, John Turteltaub and Andrew Davis.
Reynolds talent and his years of experience has put him in demand on a wide variety of projects ranging from uber-budget studio films, to micro-bugets indies. To date, he has scored more than 25 independent and lower budget projects, including HBO’s “Creature Features” series, produced by the late Stan Winston, Sony’s CRUEL INTENTIONS 3, produced by Neil Moritz, Sundance Film Festival dramatic competition feature GEORGE B, Stony Brook Film Festival Grand Prize winner ALMOST SALINAS, and Hawaii International Film Festival best short film NAGPAPANGGAP. Reynolds has also written additional music for A-list composers Danny Elfman and Trevor Rabin on various high-profile blockbusters including THE SORCERER’S APPRENTICE, G-FORCE, WANTED and GET SMART.
Reynolds cut his teeth in film music by learning from and working for some of the best in the business. At USC’s acclaimed Scoring for Motion Pictues and Television progam, he studied with numerous luminaries including Academy Award winner Elmer Bernstien, Bruce Broughton, Christopher Young and Buddy Baker.
Elmer Bernstein first mentored Reynolds, hiring him fresh out of USC. Having scored two independent features, Reynolds continued scoring his own projects while working for other noted composers Mark Isham and Christopher Young. He worked on and off with Chris Young for 6 years on 14 films, continually being hired back between his own scoring assignments.
Recently, Reynolds colaborated with legendary record producer Eddie Kramer (Jimi Hendrix, Led Zepplin, Kiss…), on a multi-faceted project born out of English guitarist / artist Llexi Leon’s ”Eternal Descent” graphic novel series.
His latest score accompanies the quirky indie romantic comedy DORFMAN, starring Sara Rue, Elliott Gould, and Haaz Sleiman. Featuring an eclectic group of instruments and vocals, Reynolds’ score was recorded and mixed entirely in his state-of-the-art project studio..
